August 17, 2017: MCTRS recognized for its work

The Myra Canyon Trestle Restoration Society has been recognized for its work in maintaining and enhancing the Myra Canyon trestles. The group was among several that will receive the 2016 BC Parks Volunteer Awards.

“A big thank you and congratulations to the 2016 BC Parks Volunteer Awards winners. These British Columbians are passionate about our heritage, parks and natural areas and their efforts are helping to preserve them for generations to come. To spend countless hours and, in some cases, decades without being paid to further what they believe in, is simply remarkable,” said George Heyman, Minister of Environment and Climate Change Strategy.
